Ja'Moon is a movement conjurer, channeling ancestral memory through ritual, physical theater, and Afro-contemporary dance. His works, including The Ghetto Shaman, have been performed in Senegal, NYC, and California. As Resident Choreographer at Ballare Carmel, he leads others in utilizing movement as a force of self-making and transformation. A Juilliard graduate, he has performed in Sleep No More NYC and collaborated with Robert Moses and Kyle Abraham. Honored with the Max Mara Young Visionary Award, YoungArts Gold Medal, and a residency at École Des Sables, Ja’Moon’s body is both archive and oracle, shaping new futures through motion.
